Sam, thanks alot for the updates and also the follow up with the developers. By the way, got a few questions about this Telekom Application, maybe someone from BV should answer this;
1. After we apply, the Telekom people will be activating the phone line to our respective home or they will pull the line to our home?
2. If all of us apply separately, will the Telekom people start making noise why application comes in one by one like that?
3. If let say we apply already, but then hand over delayed for another 3 to 5 months, means we going to pay for that 3 to 5 months bill to Telekom rite?
4. Actually, will Telekom open a booth at BV during the handover day so that the residents are able to apply there and then?
Thanks.
Regards,
ewyong
Would really like to know when if BV has any other Broadband service other than StreamyX or Maxis… like to avoid them as much as possible. Even better if BV has Fibre or in the plan sometime near future.
Hi guy,
I would like to give you a comment about broadband in Malaysia. I personally involve in the project before so i pretty clear about the broadband situation in Malaysia.
Below are the comment of each company:-
i) Maxis and Celcom Broadband:- it had wide coverage of HSDPA service but bear in mind that each station only had 16MB to accommodate an area. The 16MB is not only used for your broadband but also other services like video call, voice call and the worst thing is HSPDA license is limited, each station only allow few peoples to aquire HSPDA speed, others will be 3G. Most of the mobile provider will not purchase huge amount of HSDPA license as it is very expensive.
ii) Digi broadband:- there are still building their 3G network so no need to consider this 1st..wait it to become mature only think about it. Rumor said that their transmission network is not able to corp the existing bandwidth requirement hence need upgrade. I believe they are in the plan of upgrading now.
III)P1:- i personally think that P1 is not good, don’t know why. Just dont feel like want to use P1 as WiMax technology is not meant for end user.
IV) Streamyx:- among all the shit, we pick 1 shit which is smell better. As you know, streamyx is very suck, internet always down, but the good thing is they do not cap your total traffic usage. You can use as much as you can after you paid 66 or 88. For your information, if our area is new area, the phone line will be pull to a Metro-Ethernet network which is quite stable now. Downtime will be minimal, the only problem exist is the speed as it being share with coporate user. But the backhole pipe is very big and enough to accommodate all the user in Serdang.
I personally think that streamyx is acceptable now but not in the future as the technology is growing and requirement is getting higher. TM should improve their network as they are doing now. I not sure you all heard about Fiber to Home from TM. They are implementng this now.
Everyone, wait patiently.
Hi Max, great of you to share this with us. As a download bug, I too would recommend streamyx. For home users, you’re better off wired because of stability.
For those who feels that streamyx is bad because of capping (torrent), allow me to recommend this : http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/477026.
Great info Max. Wireless broadband here are still not good enough and have too many limitations. Like the streamyx ad said “if it is not streamyx, its not good enough loh”. I don’t think we have a choice in this case :P
I submitted mine to a friend of mine who is working for TM Point. But she said TELEKOM can’t find the address in their system. She is checking for me if the address is available, she will be calling Bukit Ikhlas Development on this matter. I will keep you guys updated.
If the registration is successful, I will email my friend’s contact to you so that you have a choice not to step into TM Point for registration.
Ewyong,
I am sure that Bukit Ikhlas are certain with the handover, that’s they dare to ask us to register now. Otherwise, I will throw the TELEKOM bill to them and ask them to pay for it.
Your suggestion on the TELEKOM booth is good, but I doubt they will have it. TELEKOM know that they are the ONLY telephone provider there, they know that we would register for their service no matter how arrogant they are.
wm,
I am with Streamyx in both my workplace and home, and all the information updated on this blog is through Streamyx, so far I find it okay though they used to be poor in service.
Max Lee,
thanks for sharing the info.
By the way, did you receive the email on Kenneth’s reply?
I am with Calvin and Ewyong, I think Streamyx is a better choice for me so far.
hi Sam,
I did recieved the email already..i did not check my email when i saw the posting.
thanks for your update anyway..i can sense that the handover is near..My estimation will be around March..
Wow, jalan BS sounds like Jalan Bull Shit. lol
Streamyx – tried and regretted. wait for HSBB wide coverage.
P1 – aggresive promotion everywhere but will end up like Izzi later.
Izzi – tried before and sucky.
Amax – using now.
wow, thanks a lot for the update! oh sam, i can’t wait for your friend to help us all out! LOL!! can start applying soon and by the time they approve the line etc, we can already surf net when we move in lor! hehehehhe
According to my friend in TM Point, the address is under “sedang disiasat” status. I called David to clarify the matter, he said TELEKOM needs to see demand in order to setup service here. He wants us to send in application now so that the service is available the soonest.
ohhhh!!! then i’ll start sending in my application tomorrow!! hey all, let’s beramai-ramai send!!
ohh oooo…looks like i cannot apply online ler…kena personally go to the tmpoint store and apply pulak. i think the nearest most relevant one to us is this right:
TMpoint Serdang
No. 36, Jalan Dagang SB 4/2
Taman Sungai Besi Indah
43300 Seri Kembangan

I think the shop houses opposite Jusco taman equine (way to McD) has TMPoint or TM dealer that can also process TM line and streamyx application…..
