Sam, thanks alot for the updates and also the follow up with the developers. By the way, got a few questions about this Telekom Application, maybe someone from BV should answer this;
1. After we apply, the Telekom people will be activating the phone line to our respective home or they will pull the line to our home?
2. If all of us apply separately, will the Telekom people start making noise why application comes in one by one like that?
3. If let say we apply already, but then hand over delayed for another 3 to 5 months, means we going to pay for that 3 to 5 months bill to Telekom rite?
4. Actually, will Telekom open a booth at BV during the handover day so that the residents are able to apply there and then?
Thanks.
Regards,
ewyong
Would really like to know when if BV has any other Broadband service other than StreamyX or Maxis… like to avoid them as much as possible. Even better if BV has Fibre or in the plan sometime near future.
Hi guy,
I would like to give you a comment about broadband in Malaysia. I personally involve in the project before so i pretty clear about the broadband situation in Malaysia.
Below are the comment of each company:-
i) Maxis and Celcom Broadband:- it had wide coverage of HSDPA service but bear in mind that each station only had 16MB to accommodate an area. The 16MB is not only used for your broadband but also other services like video call, voice call and the worst thing is HSPDA license is limited, each station only allow few peoples to aquire HSPDA speed, others will be 3G. Most of the mobile provider will not purchase huge amount of HSDPA license as it is very expensive.
ii) Digi broadband:- there are still building their 3G network so no need to consider this 1st..wait it to become mature only think about it. Rumor said that their transmission network is not able to corp the existing bandwidth requirement hence need upgrade. I believe they are in the plan of upgrading now.
III)P1:- i personally think that P1 is not good, don’t know why. Just dont feel like want to use P1 as WiMax technology is not meant for end user.
IV) Streamyx:- among all the shit, we pick 1 shit which is smell better. As you know, streamyx is very suck, internet always down, but the good thing is they do not cap your total traffic usage. You can use as much as you can after you paid 66 or 88. For your information, if our area is new area, the phone line will be pull to a Metro-Ethernet network which is quite stable now. Downtime will be minimal, the only problem exist is the speed as it being share with coporate user. But the backhole pipe is very big and enough to accommodate all the user in Serdang.
I personally think that streamyx is acceptable now but not in the future as the technology is growing and requirement is getting higher. TM should improve their network as they are doing now. I not sure you all heard about Fiber to Home from TM. They are implementng this now.
Everyone, wait patiently.
Hi Max, great of you to share this with us. As a download bug, I too would recommend streamyx. For home users, you’re better off wired because of stability.
For those who feels that streamyx is bad because of capping (torrent), allow me to recommend this : http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/477026.
Great info Max. Wireless broadband here are still not good enough and have too many limitations. Like the streamyx ad said “if it is not streamyx, its not good enough loh”. I don’t think we have a choice in this case :P
I submitted mine to a friend of mine who is working for TM Point. But she said TELEKOM can’t find the address in their system. She is checking for me if the address is available, she will be calling Bukit Ikhlas Development on this matter. I will keep you guys updated.
If the registration is successful, I will email my friend’s contact to you so that you have a choice not to step into TM Point for registration.
Ewyong,
I am sure that Bukit Ikhlas are certain with the handover, that’s they dare to ask us to register now. Otherwise, I will throw the TELEKOM bill to them and ask them to pay for it.
Your suggestion on the TELEKOM booth is good, but I doubt they will have it. TELEKOM know that they are the ONLY telephone provider there, they know that we would register for their service no matter how arrogant they are.
wm,
I am with Streamyx at both my workplace and home, and all the information updated on this blog is through Streamyx, so far I find it okay though they used to be poor in service.
Max Lee,
thanks for sharing the info.
By the way, did you receive the email on Kenneth’s reply?
I am with Calvin and Ewyong, I think Streamyx is a better choice for me so far.
hi Sam,
I did recieved the email already..i did not check my email when i saw the posting.
thanks for your update anyway..i can sense that the handover is near..My estimation will be around March..
Wow, jalan BS sounds like Jalan Bull Shit. lol
Streamyx – tried and regretted. wait for HSBB wide coverage.
P1 – aggresive promotion everywhere but will end up like Izzi later.
Izzi – tried before and sucky.
Amax – using now.
wow, thanks a lot for the update! oh sam, i can’t wait for your friend to help us all out! LOL!! can start applying soon and by the time they approve the line etc, we can already surf net when we move in lor! hehehehhe
According to my friend in TM Point, the address is under “sedang disiasat” status. I called David to clarify the matter, he said TELEKOM needs to see demand in order to setup service here. He wants us to send in application now so that the service is available the soonest.
ohhhh!!! then i’ll start sending in my application tomorrow!! hey all, let’s beramai-ramai send!!
ohh oooo…looks like i cannot apply online ler…kena personally go to the tmpoint store and apply pulak. i think the nearest most relevant one to us is this right:
TMpoint Serdang
No. 36, Jalan Dagang SB 4/2
Taman Sungai Besi Indah
43300 Seri Kembangan
Selangor
I think the shop houses opposite Jusco taman equine (way to McD) has TMPoint or TM dealer that can also process TM line and streamyx application…..
Hi all,
if you need help on Streamyx and TELEKOM fixed line application, my friend who work for TM Point can help by faxing your IC only to her. You do not necessary to visit any TM Point on your own.
ohhh!! that would be great! what’s her fax number??
Dear all,
for hassle free fixed line registration and application, just fax your I/C and unit number to the person and number below:-

i just signed my s&p, do i need to apply now already? or wait til i got da key?
Jerry Chiang,
you need to submit your application now, TELEKOM require as many application as possible in order to provide services in Bayan Villa.
guys, do i need to apply the telekom line also while i don plan to get the fixed line number? I’ll just go for streamyx combo(the package without fixed line)
Sam,
Wondering if I am currently a user of the TM (fix line + streamys)still need to apply for it?
Or your fren can just help me to relocate my line?
I have signed up some package from TM for 2 years and I guess I need to stick with my same application but not a new one.
Thanks
hi sam,
I have an existing fixed line now under my name in my rented place. I was wondering if this line can be move over when BV is ready for occupation.
If i apply another line, means i would have 2 lines concurrently active which is a hassle to cancel later.
additional info.
there is an online feature for tm existing account user.
*Move Line to Another Location/Address Order
*Request for Move Line To Another Location/Address
but a crucial info is required which we can’t provide.
*Connection Date of New Address
Same . Already got a broadband account. Just need to move line. Is this part of the CF ? Telekom lines availability ?
Dear all,
Thank you for all the enquiries. So far i only have 2 applications keyed in. Just check with TM technical, they still need more demand in order to put in the infra at Bayan Villa. For those interested, kindly fax your photocopy IC, installation address and contact number to me. I will call first to confirm before register into waiting list.
Thanks,
Lony
Hi Sam,
Just wanna check whether you or anyone know where is the location of the TM exchange for Bukit Ikhlas, chances are if the exchange is the one located opposite APM building near bukit serdang, lightning strike is very high, will easily disrupt the internet service every single time a thunder storm appears.
wish to ask do we have intercomm phone?this intercom phone we need not to apply for it right?
patty, the intercomm is ready as i understand..
Jerry Chiang,
I think you need to apply for fixed line first, convert to combo package then, as TELEKOM wants to see demand. Anyway, you can always ask the TM Point staff or Lony.
TT,
I myself a present streamyx user too.
I asked Lony, she said she can’t help to do relocation. I think I am gonna take combo later since their package is quite attractive to me, free modem and DECT phone.
esther,
I am afraid you have to apply for a fixed line now, and convert your current number to the new place later, when TELEKOM is available in Bayan Villa. I’d advise you to consult Lony.
Ryan,
this is not part of CF, it is about facility and convenience. :D
Ms Lony (TMPOINT SBJ),
thanks Lony.
David Pung,
I think the exchange should not be located at Sri Serdang, possibly at Bukit Serdang Sun Garden or Taman Perindustrian Seri Kembangan (the shoplots) as told by Mr. David Teng.
patty,
I am not sure if intercom is provided. If it is (provided), we need not to apply.
chafoo,
we gotta check with Bukit Ikhlas again if it is not written in S&P. We gotta rule out all the verbal promises made by the previous management and sales representatives. Grass issue is a good example.
if not mistaken the intercom should be provided as said..but im not 100% sure about as it been long i signed snp d.
regard the phone line actually no matter we got to apply phone line or not, the infrastructre should be there.
anyway thank u for the helps ya.
have a good day and happy applying phone line.hope it up soon as possible:)
patty,
have you applied for yourself?
err not sure if i want to apply for a fixed line yet since dont use it pretty much.. should i send in the application as well to increase the total demand ?
not yet as i don’t plan to have a fix line.:)
hi sam,
im still thinking about it:)most probably not.
sam,
still thinking.most probably not as i hardly home.
patty,
maybe you will spend more time at home when you are staying there, you hardly leave your house as you love your house so much. Maybe I can be regular guest to your house, to make you stay at home more often?
sam,
haha.mayb wait til i transform my house to small cafe then u can b my house more often then:) bring your baby oh.
Patty,
You just invite Sam only? Then what about us :D
kslim88,
wakao..ok..everyone is invited then…now takde duit reno yet..later let me slowly transform ma..fainted.O.o
ladies and gentlemen….
let us get our house first before getting other things…
there are still lots of alternatives to TM fixed line and streamyx… after all, we all use mobile phone.
once we moved in, getting the fixed line would not be an issue… i think (not sure looking at what has been happening….) he he he he :S
Joe,
I need a fixed line for alarm system and fax machine.

FAQ
Q:
A:
Dear all,
I thought i’ve seen it that the handover is about 7 days more, how come it’s now 14 days to go?
Didn’t notice that until u mentioned bout it. even 14 days I’m not convinced.
Au,
after chatting to Dr. Choo yesterday, I was afraid the previous target had been over optimistic though Mr. David and Dr. Choo did mention that they could make it either by mid or end of April. Therefore, I chose one in between. If by any chance we can get it earlier, I would call it bonus.
DC,
frankly speaking, we have every reason to be unconvinced.
Did BI update on the ‘meeting’ outcome that every1 is so looking forward to know? Thanks
Sam,
Thanks for the update. Since you have spoken to Dr. Choo, how convinced are you on the targeted handover date this round? Will this be another empty promises again? By looking at the targeted date, it just feels like too good to be true. I dare not put in high hope as each time I feel disappointed(sigh). I am sure the rest feel the same too. Sorry folks, I don’t mean to sound so negative but this is how I feel…
CassNdrew,
let’s discuss this at Checkpoint.
Dear all,
Supposed to be a big day today…
Exactly another 15 days to go…
We are really hoping that the handover is going to take place either at the end of May or early June at the very latest! As we are arriving back in KL to shift our furniture out of our rental and into our “home” we are on tight leave schedule so it is not going to be good news if we cannot shift into BV at this time if there are more delays!
[...] – TELEKOM Application [...]
Hi Sam / Lony Low,
I tried to fax to Lony fax number this morning but not able to fax out maybe because my company blocked it.
Do you have another alternative for me to apply phone line please? Like can I just send an email with my scan IC to Lony and she can help me to apply it?
Currently I do have my fix line account, if I do transfer it is ok?
Apply new line or transfer line, which one is faster and more convenient?
Hope to hear from you soon. Thank You.
